Limerick City and County Council, IE addresses theft rates with Property Marking initiative
Limerick City and County Council, IE Property Marking
Council officials acquired two Property Marking Ireland machines that etch Eircodes into personal property. National police officers and community leaders were trained to use the machines and identify markings. Limerick's Community Department offers free use of the machines for charities, sports clubs, and other groups that want to hold marking events. This initiative was designed to deter property thefts and improve the return of stolen items to their owners.
