City-run Logan Water and Downer designed the product after a brainstorming session about system improvements. The device secures underground water valves with a steel plate and lock. A tag on the lock indicates if the valve is isolated, which is vital information during maintenance and emergency repairs. Logan Water relinquished the lock's intellectual property rights and worked with Mass Products on national distribution.
Project Succeeded
Logan Water and Downer won a Water Industry Safety Excellence Award from the Australian Water Association. The partnership also yielded a 2021 Safe Work and Return to Work Award from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.
