Logan, QLD experiments with road surface made from recycled tyres
Logan, QLD Recycled Road Surface Pilot
The city is developing a recycled road surface for Lagoon Road in partnership with Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA). "Crumble rubber" blends repurposed tyre rubber with asphalt recovered from other road projects. Logan and TSA will compare wear and tear across local roads starting in May 2020. City officials hope the pilot proves effective at reducing tyre waste and creating durable roads for one of Queensland's fastest-growing cities.
