Los Angeles County’s Internal Services Department organized its first "Wellness Wednesday" event to promote healthier living in an area with high rates of childhood obesity and limited options for fresh food. During the free event, staff members offered demonstrations on healthy cooking and attendees received recipe books and food samplings. Additionally, the first 75 attendees received a free box of produce provided by the Los Angeles Food Bank.
