Maribyrnong, VIC Polka Dot Intersections Speed Reduction

Three intersections in Yarraville Village use colorful polka dots to increase motorist awareness of their surroundings. Each intersection uses speed cushions on either side of the painted area to further reduce vehicle speeds. Local residents expressed concerns to the council about pedestrian and cyclist safety in the selected areas. The six-month pilot includes quick polls and a virtual ideas wall that may shape pilots elsewhere in Maribyrnong.
