In 2017, the Mecklenburg County Office of the Tax Collector designed and implemented an interactive tool to attract bids at tax foreclosure auctions by increasing awareness. This tool allows users to search for specific criteria in tax foreclosure properties.
Project Succeeded
The County has only acquired a small number of properties at auction despite a 272% increase in the number of properties for sale since the comprehensive foreclosure strategy was implemented. Many users purchase properties at auction at prices below market value and rehabilitate the property.
