Mildura, VIC collaborates with local councils in the Mallee region on IoT network pilot
Mildura is hosting a LoRaWAN network that will connect 46 IoT devices across four councils. Each council will use people counters near public facilities to collect data on usage and maintenance needs. Sensors are gathering information on waste bin levels, water pump usage, and green space watering. Council officials installed signs near IoT devices to confirm the anonymity of collected data. A central dashboard is updated hourly with visualizations and raw data available to the public.
