Municipal leaders authorized the creation of 20,000 Ropi tickets for distribution to local residents. Participants download the Le Ropi app and deposit 10 euros to receive 21 Ropi in their accounts. A network of shops and restaurants treats each Ropi as equivalent to one euro for purchases. Business owners redeem Ropi for euro payments from a €300,000 program fund. The program allows users to pay via the mobile app or withdraw paper currency in denominations from 0.5 to 10 Ropi.

Local officials announced the goal of becoming a Zero Waste Municipality in 2021. Twelve families are participating in a seven-month challenge to support this effort. Mons residents aged 16 and older could submit ideas for public projects over a two-month period. Eligible projects aimed for positive effects on urban design, social equality, and environmental health. A jury comprised of randomly selected residents and experts along with an online public vote determined which projects shared 135,000 euros. Qualifying proposals that don't receive funding were placed on the Proximity platform for further discussion and cross-sector collaboration.

The WoCoDo process allows participants to email changeradresse@ville.mons.be instead of filling out paperwork. A centralized platform speeds police address confirmations and automatically disseminates updates to municipal departments. Mons officials anticipate reduced processing times of at least one week and service continuity that doesn't require paper waste.
