Mons (Bergen), WHT encourages purchases from local businesses with Ropi community currency program

Municipal leaders authorized the creation of 20,000 Ropi tickets for distribution to local residents. Participants download the Le Ropi app and deposit 10 euros to receive 21 Ropi in their accounts. A network of shops and restaurants treats each Ropi as equivalent to one euro for purchases. Business owners redeem Ropi for euro payments from a €300,000 program fund. The program allows users to pay via the mobile app or withdraw paper currency in denominations from 0.5 to 10 Ropi.

Mons (Bergen), WHT unveils Woon Control Domicile platform for expedited address changes by residents

Residents moving house within Mons previously contacted neighborhood police officers to confirm new addresses. The WoCoDo process allows participants to email changeradresse@ville.mons.be instead of filling out paperwork. A centralized platform speeds police address confirmations and automatically disseminates updates to municipal departments. Mons officials anticipate reduced processing times of at least one week and service continuity that doesn't require paper waste.
