The council included new features over nine months of development for increased accessibility. Narrandera established weekly challenges over a 12-week period that encouraged user navigation of the website. The kick-off challenge involved using one of the site's four comment forms for a test response. Participants were entered into a drawing for $100 AUD shopping vouchers after completing surveys about their site experiences.

Narrandera, NSW installs Return and Earn Machines that reward resident recycling behaviors
Four machines produced by TOMRA issue a $0.10 AUD refund for every deposited recyclable item. Patrons choose to receive vouchers to Coles Supermarkets or donate their refunds to local charities. TOMRA's mobile app keeps track of recyclable item categories not currently accepted based on machine capacity. Narrandera makes the Return and Earn Machines available during the same hours as the Waste Depot to help residents consolidate their drop-offs.
