The New Orleans City Council is working on proposals to protect carjacking victims from impound fees and parking fines. The Council members are also looking to create a fund that would direct the city's Chief Administrative Officer to fully reimburse victims. The Council members are also working on efforts to ban companies from charging fees to residents for recovering their stolen vehicles.
