The Municipality of Nijmegen offered residents a Future-Proof Housing Loan to encourage the development of sustainable homes. Homeowners can use the loan for solar panels, home insulation, asbestos remediation, foundation repairs, etc. The loan is available in various amounts with competitive interest rates and it does not require monthly payments. Applicants are required to combine at least one energy-saving measure with a modification that makes the home future-proof such as a stair lift.
