Midstate Traffic Control and The Oklahoma Department of Transportation have started phase one of the Traffic Signal Emergency Vehicle Detection System by upgrading 39 of their 153 traffic signals. This project will allow emergency vehicles to pre-empt traffic signals using GPS.
