Placer County, CA high-speed internet access in rural areas
Planning
The Placer County's Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $500,000 grant for Wave Broadband to build fiber-optic infrastructure. The $2.2 million project will bring high-speed internet access to approximately 1,500 households in the county's rural communities. The county plans to use CARES ACT funding to support the project and issue additional grants to identify specific rural communities with the highest need for the upcoming infrastructure.
