Local officials introduced Møbelcirklen - The Furniture Circle - in parallel with sustainable procurement strategies. Jobcenter Randers Erhverv hires unemployed residents to refurbish office furniture no longer used by municipal departments. Public employees can request refurbished items through the project's website or by visiting the showroom. Furniture Circle reduces the number of usable items sent to the landfill and instills sustainable mindsets in participants.

Randers, DK collaborates with furniture company HOUE on MyWaste plastic recycling program
After-school program participants gather plastic waste at home during the 11-week program. Kids receive stickers recognizing their efforts to collect recyclables and educate their families. Participating centers compete for prizes for diverting the most plastic from the landfill. Gathered plastics are delivered to HOUE for production of the FALK armchair available at a discounted rate to Randers residents.
