Red Deer, AB Open-Market Approach E-Scooter Pilot
Red Deer received inquiries from e-scooter operators that led to the pilot's development. The initiative does not set a limit on the number of approved companies operating at the same time. E-scooters will take to Red Deer streets from 2021 to 2023 with user surveys and data collection shaping the future of micro-mobility. City council members reviewed lessons from similar pilots in Calgary and Edmonton and evaluated code amendments prior to approval.
