Roseville, CA puts biogases created at wastewater plant to good use with cogeneration system
Roseville, CA Wastewater Plant Biogas Cogeneration System
Complete
The Dry Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant previously burned off biogas from treatment processes. Collected biogas now powers a generator that creates 400 kilowatts of electricity for the facility. Roseville also fostered connections between restaurants and the plant that turn cooking oils and greases into eco-friendly energy. The city's investment in cogeneration saves the public $300,000 per year in electricity costs.
