Selwyn District Council, NZ carbon footprint calculation
In Progress
Selwyn District Council calculated its carbon footprint to establish a baseline for reducing local carbon emissions. The results were audited and verified by Toitu Envirocare which specialises in assessing carbon footprints. The report indicates that 60% of the Council's annual carbon emissions come from diesel use by contractors performing road maintenance, water network management, and waste collection. The Council will now be conducting regular assessments of its carbon emission levels.
