South Taranaki District Council, NZ Zero Waste gift wrapping

In Progress

South Taranaki District Council created a free Zero Waste gift wrapping station for local Christmas shoppers. Residents can bring their Christmas gifts to the station to have Council officials wrap them for free in 100% compostable, reusable, or recyclable material. The Council created this optional service to encourage residents to consider their waste during the holidays and reduce the 50,000 extra tonnes of waste expected the week after Christmas.
