South Taranaki District Council launched the "Shop South Taranaki" online marketplace to support local businesses. The Council collaborated with local business associations to create the website in order to attract new customers. Users can browse twelve categories and filter listing within each of the seven local towns. Each participating business receives a fully customized webpage including their logo, a promotional image, opening hours, contact information, etc.
