St. Augustine, FL expands mobility options in heavily used areas with Bolt e-bike partnership
Bolt operates 110 e-bikes at 13 hubs located throughout the city. Residents and tourists access e-bikes for $1 unlock fees and $0.35 per minute via the Gotcha Powered by Bolt app. E-bike riders can travel up to 15 miles per hour but are not allowed to ride or park at Plaza de la Constitución or St. George Street. Project partner Flagler Health+ supplied $100,000 for initial operational costs to encourage active travel.

The city worked with health technology firm Kinsa to outfit 600 volunteers with contactless thermometers. Temperature data were anonymized and sent to city health officials for real-time analysis. The pilot targeted first responders and households with large numbers of residents. St. Augustine used data trends to plan testing locations and public health interventions for future outbreaks.
