Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, GB Bike Hire
The business hub regeneration project opened an opportunity to add the bike-hiring scheme. Eight solar-powered docks outside of the neighboring Holiday Inn Express serve 12 bikes. Brompton's foldable bikes are rented from £3.50 per day and easily stored in public transit, vehicles, or offices. The bike hire along with Stockport Exchange's proximity to bus and rail stops meet important goals in the borough's 10-year active travel plan.
