Stroud District Council, GB leverages heat energy from the River Frome for building climate control

Stroud District Council, GB Heat Energy River Frome Climate

Complete

Cotswold Energy Group customized water-source heat pumps for two council offices housed in former mills. The Brimscombe Port Mill pump transfers heat energy into the building via an indoor-outdoor pipe system. The Ebley Mill system gathers warm water, extracts energy via heat exchanger, and pumps cool water back into the river. Council officials estimate an annual emission savings of 5,125 tons from replacing gas boilers with electric-powered pumps.
