The Municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân launched a temporary support for essential costs (TONK) scheme to support residents struggling financially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The TONK scheme provides eligible applicants with a temporary contribution for housing costs including rent, mortgage, and utilities. In order to be eligible for the TONK scheme applicants must have lost more than 30% of their income in the past year due to the pandemic and have housing costs higher than €403.
