Terrassa, CT Vacances Grans pilot provides isolated seniors with growth and social opportunities
Vacances Grans - or Senior Holidays - responded to increased isolation among the 17% of city residents aged 65 and older. Terrassa's social services team worked with the Red Cross to identify 20 qualifying seniors for a four-day retreat. A team of eight volunteers worked with participants on mobility workshops, memory exercises, and other activities. The Vacances Grans pilot continued Terrassa's promotion of active lifestyles and community participation by seniors.

Terrassa, CT turns recycled goods into charity donations with Reciclos rewards program
Terrassa and Ecoembes installed 1,200 bins and two vending machines for improved access to recycling infrastructure. Participants download the Reciclos app, scan barcodes on recyclable items, and scan QR codes when depositing items at the bins. Vending machines at rail stations require item deposits and QR code scans for credits in the app. Credits generated during the campaign translate into donations to a clothing drive for vulnerable families.
