During the event, residents receive a free bingo card from a participating venue and punch their card by completing activities throughout the district. Participants are entered into a drawing for prizes including a limited edition badge, a swim ticket, book vouchers, garden vouchers, and a computer.

The project involved having an accredited contractor scan over 12,000 commercial and residential building files in order to create electronic copies. The Council commissioned the electronic files because repeatedly retrieving, scanning, and refiling the paper files was an inefficient process.

Timaru District Council partnered with Vetta Online, a local internet service provider, to launch a free public Wi-Fi network. The network enables anyone with a Wi-Fi enabled device to access 500MB of fast, free Wi-Fi every day. Residents and visitors can pay bills, download entertainment, upload images, review tourism links, etc., without wasting mobile data. The new network also provides the Council's Civil Defence team with high speed internet access during local emergencies.

The directory allows local businesses to showcase their operating hours, available products, and active promotions for residents to browse. The free platform provides listings for any local businesses that complete the registration form found on the website.
