Vaughan, ON Telensa City-wide LED Streetlight Retrofit
The existing network of 23,000 streetlights will be replaced by LED fixtures operating within the Telensa PLANet system. PLANet connects wireless controls for each light to a centralized system for real-time monitoring. City staffers will use the system to adjust lighting levels and anticipate maintenance needs. The program will save an estimated $1 million CAD per year in energy costs because lighting accounts for 20% of city energy usage.
