Wake County Emergency Medical Services partnered with Global Medical Response to launch the Nurse Navigation Program. Through this program, 911 operators will reroute callers with non life-threatening emergencies to a nurse navigator in order to reduce the burden on an overwhelmed 911 call system. These nurse navigators will determine a caller's needs, provide medical advice, connect callers to their primary-care providers, connect callers to transportation services to a clinic, etc.
