West Vancouver, BC approves incentive program for e-bike purchases by low-income households
District officials approved a CAD 135,000 pilot fund for the program. Households between the low-income cut-off and median income levels qualify for CAD 500 rebates on new e-bike purchases. The rebate increases to CAD 1,500 for households falling below the low-income cut-off level. The fund covers up to 500 Tier 1 and 50 Tier 2 rebates. West Vancouver will measure emission reductions, traffic changes, and public transit use throughout the pilot.

West Vancouver, BC creates Waste Evaders game to promote proper recycling practices
The city developed Waste Evaders as an interactive exercise to support color-coded bin use. Across five levels, users select whether to place random items into one of five bins or send them to the recycling center. Residents are tested on how they would dispose of items ranging from computer monitors to plastic bottles. The reward for completing each level is a new design feature for a simulated waterfront.
