Westwood, NJ Police Heroin Addiction Recovery Team

In Progress

The Westwood Police Department launched a new program, the Heroin Addiction Recovery Team, to give residents a new way to receive help with addiction. Without fear of arrest, residents can walk into a police station, turn in drugs, and immediately find placement in treatment. The program aims to reduce the number of local overdose deaths by destigmatizing addiction and providing a bridge between local law enforcement and residents.
