Wiener Neustadt, NOE converts public lighting to smart LED

The city of Wiener Neustadt is investing 500,000 euros to convert all 6,9000 public lighting points to LED in order to save energy. Half of the funding will be used to test smart street technologies in the converted infrastructure such as parking space monitoring and electric charging stations.

In der Gemeinderatssitzung am 14. Februar wurde die Umstellung der kompletten öffentlichen Beleuchtung der Stadt Wiener Neustadt auf LED einstimmig beschlossen. Für diesen wichtigen umweltpolitischen Schritt werden im Jahr 2022 in einem ersten Schritt 500.000,- Euro veranschlagt.
