Apeldoorn, GE Tiny Home Pilot Sustainable Living Land Use
Ten applicants were randomly selected to live in tiny homes on a vacant lot in Zuidbroek. The participants divided the lot amongst themselves and worked with designers on custom features. Each home has up to 28 square meters of usable space that minimizes emissions and waste. Pilot requirements include full-time residency in the homes for up to five years. Apeldoorn does not provide utility connections in order to encourage self-sufficiency among residents.

Tien enthousiaste initiatiefnemers zijn op 11 maart ingeloot voor de proef met tiny houses in Zuidbroek. Zij gaan nu aan de slag met de uitwerking van hun plan. De mensen die meededen uit de loting komen uit alle delen van het land. Van de gelukkigen gaan sommigen zich alleen op deze locatie vestigen, anderen gaan hier samen met hun partner het tiny house-avontuur aan.

Het eerste tiny house in Zuidbroek staat op z’n plek. Op het terrein tussen de Nijbroekseweg en Park Zuidbroek lieten bewoners Dirk en Charlotte zaterdag 27 juni hun 26 m2 tellende droomhuis op z’n plaats hijsen.
