Austin, TX launches Accessible Hazard Alert System

The city of Austin's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has partnered with the Travis County Office of Emergency Management and Deaf Link, Inc. to launch the Accessible Hazard Alert System (AHAS). The AHAS sends an accessible message in American Sign Language, alongside voice and text, to registered residents during an emergency. The AHAS was designed for members of Deaf, Blind, Hard of Hearing, or Deaf and Blind communities.
