Brentwood Borough Council, GB litter fines
Brentwood Borough Council contracted National Enforcement Solutions to boost litter enforcement by deploying a team of Environment Enforcement Officers. During the one-year trial, the team is targeting areas known for excessive litter and issuing litter fines to offenders. The officers are paid an hourly rate and do not receive any incentives based on the number of notices issued. The Council hopes that this new initiative will reduce littering, fly tipping, and dog fouling in the area.
