Burnside, SA Your Neighbourhood Budget Citizen Suggestions
Burnside residents submitted proposed improvements to local facilities through the council's engagement platform. Council staffers worked with applicants to meet criteria including public accessibility and three-month timelines for completion. Finalists presented their ideas during a Pitch Your Idea event before residents voted for their favorite projects. Winning projects including solar lights at a dog park and new air conditioning for a community center split up to $40,000 AUD.

$40,000 is available to spend on projects in your neighbourhood. Voting is now open until 5 pm Friday 13 December 2019. Choose the project/s that you want Your Neighbourhood Budget spent on! Council sought nominations from the community for projects to be completed in the City of Burnside. Creative ideas were submitted as part of this consultation. The community will decide which projects will be installed, maintained or run by Council on community land such as parks, reserves, road verges and community centres in the City of Burnside. Have a look through these fabulous projects and vote for your favourites. The community decides what projects will be funded! Voting will close 5 pm Friday 13 December 2019, with the winning projects announced on Thursday 19 December online. Please see the Key Dates in the right hand pane. ** UPDATE - WINNERS ANNOUNCED ** Voting has closed and the winning projects have been announced. The following projects were voted by the community and will be installed by Council in the 2020/21 financial year: Little Libraries, Tusmore Park, Hazelwood Park and Chapel Street Reserve Monkey bars, Albert Street Reserve Demonstration verge gardens, locations to be confirmed Rubbish bin and dog bag dispenser, Bradman Park No smoking signs near playground, Tusmore Park Drinking fountain, Chapel Street Reserve Basketball hoop and key in Penfold Park. Congratulations to the communities that proposed these exciting projects. ***** $40,000 is available to spend on projects in your neighbourhood. Tell us how you would spend it to benefit the Burnside community. TIME TO VOTE The community have sent in their nominations for projects and events. Now it is your chance to vote on what projects and events will be installed and maintained or run by Council. Find out more about each project in the document library to the right of the page. Vote using the tab below. The community will vote online for the projects that will be funded. Another chance to have your say Every year the community contributes to the creation of Council's business plan and budget via the Annual Community Survey (in November) and the Annual Business Plan and Budget engagement process (in May). Your Neighbourhood Budget is another chance for the community to direct how funds are spent. The community nominates projects, and the community will decide what projects are funded. Voting will open 18 May 2020 and close 26 June 2020.
