Busselton, WA conducts PowerBank community battery pilot for households with rooftop solar

Busselton, WA PowerBank Community Battery Pilot

In Progress

The PowerBank in Vasse acts as a battery for participating households with solar panels. Stored energy during the day is consumed by homes in the evenings. Any excess energy at the end of the day is sold back to the local grid for a fee shared among pilot participants. Households pay up to $1.90 AUD per day in subscription fees in exchange for access to the PowerBank. Western Power funded the initial installation of the PowerBank, while Synergy handled participant recruitment.
