Canterbury Bankstown, NSW captures unsafe driving behaviors with smart traffic camera pilot
Canterbury Bankstown, NSW Smart Traffic Camera Pilot
The one-month trial placed AI-enabled cameras near three schools and two parking lots. Footage of double-parked vehicles, illegal turns, and stops in no-stop zones was isolated for review by council officials. Council leaders tested multiple smart cameras during the pilot to find the right vendor for a broader rollout. Smart cameras may be paired with plate recognition technology to automatically issue tickets without overextending enforcement personnel.
