Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, GB encourages residential solar energy with Project Girona

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, GB Project Girona

In Progress

The council is working with Girona Energy on a free solar energy program for trial participants in Coleraine. Solar panels and on-site batteries allow households to use affordable, zero-emission electricity without grid access. Qualifying residents have broadband connections for battery monitoring and live near the Loguestown Substation. Project Girona could be expanded elsewhere in the borough and Northern Ireland if it proves feasible.
