Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is offering stipends to families of 2,100 students affected by the nationwide bus driver shortage. CPS is offering these affected families $1,000 for the first two weeks and $500 for each of the following months. The stipends are intended to alleviate some of the inconvenience caused by the lack of reliable free transportation to and from school.
