The city introduced the program with Rebrand Cities in the midst of COVID-19. One hundred sole proprietors and businesses participated in five weeks of virtual training. Online courses covered website design, content development, and digital branding. This free program also provided business websites and three months of hosting to participants. Detroit plans to expand the pilot to additional cohorts by the end of 2021.

100 businesses will have the opportunity to participate in a 5-week website accelerator The program application will launch on Monday, April 27th at 9 AM Applications Close: Thursday, April 30, 2020 11:59 PM This is a pilot program, meaning that the goal is to learn from this group of 100 businesses and scale to thousands more over 12 – 18 months. COVID-19 has presented new challenges for small businesses in Detroit.
