Dublin City Council, IE Academy of the Near Future

City officials worked with CONNECT and Smart Docklands on educational activities related to smart city technology. An initial pilot taught 1,000 Transition Year students about IoT devices, connectivity, and other concepts. This pilot was followed by a Design Your Future City challenge that asked 21 participants to solve local problems with technology. Future plans include an Optimisers program for local council employees and a citizen science project at 25 schools.
