Gold Coast, QLD built a solar power network on council buildings to meet energy management goals

Gold Coast, QLD Council Solar Power Network Energy

Complete

Gold Coast operates solar panels on 47 council buildings and facilities as part of its Energy Management Plan. These additions have led to $1 million per year in savings from passive energy collection. The Pimpama Sports Hub combines solar panels with natural gas generation for low-emission operations. The success of municipal solar energy could lead to council-built neighborhood grids for homes and businesses.
