The county deployed kiosks at Human Service Centers to streamline the resident check-in process. This pilot project launched in April 2018 and cost $71,000. A Hennepin County Board innovation grant covered the costs of hardware, software, process design, training, and planning.

Project Succeeded
The test phase ended July 2018 with the following results: reduced resident-staff interactions by 37%, reduced 63% of initial wait times by 5 minutes, 67% of residents reported a “positive” reaction to the kiosk and 77% found it “very easy” to use.
