Hobsons Bay, VIC tested Emesh recycled plastic surfacing for Skeleton Creek Trail

Hobsons Bay, VIC Emesh Recycled Plastic Trail Surfacing

Complete

The council replaced an 80-meter area of the trail with a mixture of concrete and Emesh plastic fibers. Emesh is made with recycled plastics and provides greater flexibility in trail construction than steel reinforcement. This section of Skeleton Creek Trail reduced landfill waste by 108 kilograms and emissions by 2,500 kilograms. Hobsons Bay will compare wear and tear on the new trail section to other sections before extending the pilot.
