Inverclyde Council, GB Community Food Pantry Cutting Waste
The Pantry in Greenock stocks surplus produce, canned foods, and household supplies from regional producers. Local residents pay a £1 yearly membership fee and £2.50 per week for supplies worth up to £15 in items. The council provided shop space and allocated Future Jobs trainees for remodeling work. Project partner Inverclyde Community Development Trust handles day-to-day operations along with job training and volunteer opportunities at The Pantry.
