Inverclyde Council, GB unveils employment and support pilot aimed at young men
Inverclyde Council, GB Young Men Employment Support Pilot
In Progress
Local officials found 70% of residents with alcohol and drug dependencies are men aged 20 to 30. This cohort is the focus of a two-year pilot with Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). Thirty participants in Greenock and Port Glasgow receive one-on-one assistance from HSCP support workers over the first year. Young men in the program are motivated to engage in healthy behaviors by the promise of one-year employment contracts with the council.
