Kitchener, ON LoveMyHood Neighborhood Initiative COVID-19

Residents organize neighborhood groups and request up to $30,000 CAD from the city. Each request must be matched by an equal amount of volunteer time, donations, and borrowed equipment. LoveMyHood offers up to $2,000 CAD for events and $10,000 CAD for projects on private land. A 10-person committee of city staff and residents select projects that re-energize public spaces and foster connections among neighbors. Winning projects include a neighborhood naming event and a pop-up market.
