London Borough of Waltham Forest, GB Vaccine Uptake

A 75-member Citizen's Recovery Panel representative of the borough provided insights into COVID-19 vaccine reluctance. Additional sessions identified altruists, inquirers, and opposers as the groups most concerned about the vaccine. The borough crafts localized messages to these groups using Next Door, Facebook, and Whatsapp. Waltham Forest uses these channels along with volunteer networks to amplify stories of once-reluctant vaccine recipients.
Project Succeeded
Targeted engagement increased the percentage of residents willing to receive vaccines from 65% in November 2020 to 87% in February 2021.
