Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, GB Loneliness Network addresses growing social isolation
Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, GB Loneliness Network
The Loneliness Network uses social media posts and transit ads to raise awareness of isolation across all ages. Chatty Benches in parks and public locations encourage willing passersby to engage in impromptu conversations. The borough recruited restaurants and shops as Chatty Cafés with designated tables for socialization. Project leaders also created a Chatty Café Toolkit for other businesses seeking quick starts for their participation in the network.
