Milan, LOM Air Quality Network High-Traffic Areas

Municipal officials responded to data showing a high number of local deaths related to air pollution. Thirty compact monitors donated by Bloomberg Philanthropies were installed near schools and densely populated areas. Real-time particulate data are integrated into data from regional sensors maintained by Lombardy's environmental protection agency. Local and regional officials will design emission reduction measures based on air quality trends.
