New York, NY experiments with neighborhood delivery microhubs for reduced vehicle emissions
New York, NY Neighborhood Delivery Microhubs Emissions
The Microhubs Pilot begins with up to 20 curbside and off-street locations across the five boroughs in the summer of 2023. Parcel services drop their deliveries at neighborhood hubs for last-mile services via cargo bike or electric van. The city's Department of Transportation identified 23 potential partners through a Request for Expressions of Interest. Local officials will expand locations, technologies, and incentives for a two-year pilot from 2024 to 2026.
